Why do I love my Subaru? Let me count the ways! First off, I learned to drive on a subaru (well, that and a 59 Austin Healy, but we're talking practical application here), but ever since I got my liscence about 15 years ago, I have only ever owned Subarus. I have had 5 Subarus now - an '87 automatic sedan, an '85 standard sedan, an '87 standard wagon (with shift on the fly 4WD), a '93 standard Legacy wagon with AWD, and now I have an '01 standard Outback with of course - AWD and added safety features. They have all been fantastic cars, and though I thoroughly beat on the first three (pizza delivery and lots of bumpy back roads), they just kept on going until the day that I sold them. Just about all of them have made it to 150k miles with no signs of stopping, and I think my highest has been about 189k. They just keep on keeping on! And I must admit that I LOVE the body styles... I get excited just thinking about them. They are so... solid, I guess would be the best word for it. So many cars these days focus on either style or function - but with Subaru, I have found both form and function to be present. Really... I could go on for HOURS about Subaru's, but I wont. I just want you all to know that I have gotten about 12 people in my life to buy Subarus instead of the cars they were actively interested in, simply for my passion towards them and the fact that its an easy sell... they sell themselves really. You will never find such a complete package in any other vehicle in my opinion. So I really hope that if you aren't a Subaru owner that you at least go try one out! You wont be dissappointed. -Nick J. Steglich Fitchburg, MA |
